Programs
Celebrate Christmas in July with Mr. and Mrs. Claus followed by a gingerbread house craft. This program is for children ages 5-10, but all ages welcome. Children ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Registration is required at the Circulation Desk, by phone or by email. Space is limited.

Join us for a night of summer fun! The movie will be show on the library patio. We will be showing Kung Fu Panda (2024). Rated PG. Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win awesome prizes. All ages are welcome, but children ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Chairs and refreshments will be provided. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be shown inside.

Join us for award-winning paleontologist, author and storyteller Joseph “PaleoJoe” Kchodl’s discussion about dinosaur fossils from the last Ice Age in the Midwest and the Great Lakes. This program is geared for children ages 6-16, but children ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

These activities are designed for our friends aged 0-3. Little ones will explore their world by using their senses. Our youngest friends will get to enjoy new experiences and meeting new friends. Their caregivers will be able to enjoy the mess being somewhere else! No registration required, join us for one or all events.
July 12, Paint! We will have poster paint to use with paintbrushes, as well as our fingers! Play clothes strongly recommended as this activity may be messy.
August 2, Chalk! Grab a stick of jumbo chalk and decorate our patio with beautiful colors and designs.

Naturalist Donna Posont from the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Environmental Interpretive Center will talk about Michigan birds and how to identify them by sound. After the interactive presentation, you will get the chance to make your own bird feeder and take it home. The program will be on the library patio and light refreshments will be provided. Open to all ages, but children ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Rob Papineau of Pippen Puppets will bring not just pirates, but mermaids, sea monsters, a shipwreck and a treasure. Captain Pirate Petey will sail the pirate ship Giggling Twinky in pretend adventures. Come sail along, sing along and pirate along. All ages are welcome, but children ages 12 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
